Simply request your preferred language when you schedule an appointment or at any time during your visit.

You are entitled to access health information that is clear, easy to understand, and available in a language that feels comfortable for you. Our Language Services department is dedicated to supporting you. Please feel free to request your preferred language when scheduling your appointment or at any time during your visit.

Language services

We believe that simplified health information is a patient right. When you understand your health care needs, you can make better decisions that improve health outcomes.

Our language services provide patients and visitors — our community — with health care interpreters or translators.

Language resources are available 24/7 for individuals who speak languages other than English or have hearing impairments. We provide various language services, including medical video interpretation for your visits, all at no cost to you. We are dedicated to ensuring everyone has access to the communication support they need.

How to request a translator

When you schedule an appointment or are admitted to the hospital, we ask for your preferred language. That way, our health care team can effectively communicate with you and your loved ones. Trained, certified interpreters and translators can help you discuss different health topics with your health care team. Examples include:

  • Medical history

  • Consent to receive care

  • Symptoms

  • What to expect before, during and after surgery

  • Your diagnosis
