UT Health San Antonio Multispecialty and Research Hospital

Academics and continuing education

UT Health San Antonio Multispecialty and Research Hospital is a hospital of UT Health San Antonio, a leading academic medical center educating the next generation of health care professionals serving South Texas. We’re motivated by curiosity and the drive to make things better for each person we care for.

Building tomorrow’s care

Our providers, faculty, researchers and students work in clinics, labs and classrooms across UT Health San Antonio and the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine to discover medical breakthroughs and improve medical care, helping solve the most common and complex diseases.

At UT Health San Antonio Multidisciplinary and Research Hospital, we are dedicated to investigating the causes and cures of disease and providing cutting-edge medical care. We offer our patients clinical trials that are unavailable anywhere else in our region, with a special focus on cancer, Alzheimer’s and neurological disease, and orthopaedics.

Growing health professionals in South Texas

With nearly 70 degrees, pre- and post-baccalaureate certificate programs offered in our community, the Long School of Medicine and UT Health San Antonio prepare health care professionals to serve South Texans and the world.

Medical school

The Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is the largest trainer of physicians in South Texas. Many of the doctors trained here remain in the San Antonio area to practice medicine.

Each year, the UT Health San Antonio Multidisciplinary and Research Hospital will train hundreds of medical students, residents and fellows in San Antonio, helping curb the shortage of medical providers in Bexar County and across the state.
