Patients must be referred to UT Health San Antonio Multispecialty and Research Hospital by their UT Health San Antonio provider.
- If you are already a UT Health San Antonio patient, your UT Health San Antonio provider may refer you to our hospital for imaging, lab work or to be admitted for a procedure, treatment or advanced nursing care.
- If you don’t have a UT Health San Antonio provider, visit your current provider to request a referral for an appointment with a UT Health San Antonio provider.

3. Complete pre-registration
When you are scheduled at our hospital, we will contact you prior to your visit to help you prepare and answer your questions. You play a key role in this process by updating your personal information in MyChart ensuring its accuracy.
During pre-registration, you may request to meet with one of our financial counselors. They are here to answer your questions and discuss billing and payment options .

4. Arrive to the hospital for treatment
Come to the hospital for your scheduled appointment, surgery, treatment or procedure.

Your dedicated care team is here before, during and after your hospital visit to help:

6. Follow your personalized discharge plan
Before leaving our hospital, you will receive a custom discharge plan tailored to your needs.
This plan includes important information for your recovery, such as helpful phone numbers, care instructions, follow-up appointments and rehabilitation services.
Even after you go home, your care team is here to answer questions or help with follow-up appointments and recovery instructions.
You can always view your discharge plan and care summary in your MyChart account.
