Construction Progress
The Multispecialty and Research Hospital, positioned on 12.2 acres, has reached its highest peak; and, our skilled construction team of 700-plus is diligently and safely progressing. When complete, the hospital will be eight stories high, house 12 operating rooms, 144 beds, state-of-the-art technology and have a sky bridge connecting it to the Mays Cancer Center.

Vaughn Construction was born out of the Vaughn family’s long history and trusted reputation in the construction industry. It was founded by Joe Vaughn, one of Houston’s construction icons, in 1988. Vaughn has maintained a constant but controlled growth over the last 30+ years. Today, Vaughn is a second generation, family-owned general contractor and construction management firm. They are one of the largest contractors in Texas, and a leading builder of healthcare, research, and higher education facilities throughout the state. In addition to our Houston home office, Vaughn Construction has offices in Austin, College Station, Dallas, El Paso, Lubbock, Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and the Texas Medical Center (Houston).

EYP is an integrated design firm specializing in healthcare, higher education, government, and science & technology. Alamo Architects
Alamo Architects is a multidisciplinary firm, providing architectural design, planning, and interior design services. Like UT Health San Antonio, Alamo Architects is deeply rooted in San Antonio and are especially proud of their continuing relationship with UT Health, with whom we have worked collaboratively on five major projects in recent years.
Established in 1984, Alamo Architects is thoroughly engaged with institutional, educational, multifamily and retail architecture, as well as master planning and project management for complex integrated urban projects. Their varied experience and expertise include Sustainable Design, Multi-Family Housing, Parking Structures, Civic, Academic, and Historic/Adaptive Reuse projects.

Mitchell Planning and Genesis Planning, now together under Ross & Baruzzini, create the largest medical equipment consulting practice in the world creating Ross & Baruzzini’s Medical Equipment Planning Division. With a significant presence of over 100 specialized personnel in multiple locations nationwide, Ross & Baruzzini can provide end-to-end medical equipment planning services for all types of health, science and education projects from small to complex.
